HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Hey, just want to let you know-- I haven't forgotten the December kit-- it is sitting here on my computer, waiting to be uploaded. Unfortunately, since I waited until the last minute, my internet connection is acting up, and being very ssslllloooooooowww. (not only can I not upload my files, but downloading is slow too.) Kinda like me, LOL. Hopefully I'll get it up for you pretty soon. Like I am every month, I'm amazed at the colors I can find in Mother Nature's pallette for my colors for the kits! I think you'll like this one.

Speaking of slow...I just found out yesterday that I am anemic AND I have hypothyroidism. What a combo! It sure explains a lot of things. Maybe once I get my iron back up and start taking my thyroid meds for a couple of weeks I'll see a difference. I guess I'll have to take thyroid meds all the time now, and keep getting regular check-ups. *sigh* No more "oops, I skipped my physical this year" for me.

Well, I'm going off to catch some New Year's Eve shows...I hope all of you have a good New Year, and I'll try to see if my internet is any better tomorrow.

Christmas wordart

With Christmas just a few days away (ours WILL be WHITE this year, definitely), I wanted to post some wordart from one of my favorite Christmas songs. They are on one sheet, but can easily be "cut out" so you can use them the way you want to. Don't know yet if I will have a chance to post any more between now and Christmas, so if I don't, I want to wish everyone happiness and health for the holidays!

I'm Back!

Well, here I am, back in then land of the living. LOL Between my computer problems, the flu, and the ice storm, I wasn't sure when or if I'd ever get back to my blog! I have missed posting things, and checking out all the blogs for the goings on in the digital scrapbooking world.

Originally, I wasn't going to make a holiday kit. I felt there were so many great ones out there, and I really didn't want to do more green and red. However, when I was going through my pictures to use for my November kit, I came across one that had some red berries in it, and when I used kuler on it to pull out the colors, I knew it would make a nice, yet different, holiday kit. The red and green are a little softer than they are in most of the holiday kits out there, and the addition of the other, soft natural colors really help to tone it down a bit. Thus, "Noel" was born! I tried to use generic type embellishments for this kit, so it could be used for non-holiday pages, too. The wordarts are all Christmassy though. :)

I just realized that I forgot to put the color swatch with the psd color numbers on it in my folders. If anyone wants them (so you can make your own coordinating items) please feel free to email me to request a copy.

Sorry I have been MIA

I'm so sorry I haven't had anything new lately on my blog...I've been having some computer issues. Hopefully they are fixed now, and I will be able to get some new things posted to my blog soon!

November Kit

Well, now I have my November kit available. I love the colors in this one. I wasn't sure what I was going to get when I started taking pictures for this kit. I figured that there wouldn't be too much variety in colors at this time of year. (As I mentioned before, I'm taking my colors from photographs I have taken.) Hope you enjoy this one.

Let's try this one again!

"An opitmist..."- take two!

OK, so now I have "Thanksgiving" with a "k". I tweaked the look of the wordart just a little also. Now you should be able toi use this on your pages!

Keeping with the Thanksgiving theme...

LOL! Hope you like this one! Of course, I don't know of anyone who actually does start a diet on Thanksgiving.

It's that time of year!

No, silly, I'm not talking about Christmas! It's the time of year when I listen to Arlo Guthrie sing "Alice's Restaurant" (also known as "Thanksgiving Massacre") Ok, so I confess, I don't just listen to this song during Thanksgiving, but this makes a good excuse to listen! I couldn't resist making a few wordarts from the song lyrics. I tried to make them generic, so they could be used anytime. Don't worry, I will get back to my SNL wordarts next week...but for now, just humor me a bit and let me indulge myself for a few days. Hehe.

More from Gilda Radner-variations on "nevermind"

I used to love it when Gilda Radner would do Emily Litella on SNL. She'd be rambling on and on with her misinterpretation of something, until somebody would correct her, and then she would stop and say "nevermind". Cracked me up every time.

Anyway, here are some variations on the word "nevermind"--use one (just cut and paste) or all, what ever suits your page. Just one a page would work, or making a collage would be fun, too. Anyway, enjoy it!

Two more things I want to mention today-- I have officially been blogging for one year! (Yay) , and also, kevinandamanda.com's fonts for peas page has some new "pea" fonts this week!

It's always something

Gilda Radner was always one of my favorite Sturday Night Live performers. Here is one of my favorite quotes of hers.

More cowbell, and requst for help

With football seaon in full gear, I wanted to get this wordart posted. A lot of high schools are either in playoff seaon or getting ready for playoffs, Thanksgiving day games, etc, before the next sport seaon begins. And of course, college and pro sports will still be paying for quite a while.

Are you someone who hits a cowbell to cheer your team on, or do you know someone who does? (Or maybe there is someone who irritates you at every game who does?) 'Fess up! This wordart is for you.

If you don't know the connection of "more cowbell" and "Saturday Night Live", listen to "More Cowbell (Don't Fear the Reaper)" by Blue Oyster Cult on my song list. I guarantee at least a smile out of you! Note: the music producer in the skit is Christopher Walken and the cowbell player is Will Ferrell.

Now for my request for help-- this quote was in a letter to the editor of the newspaper today. The writer said that Angus King (former Independent governor of Maine) had quoted this, but it doesn't say who originally came up with the quote. I think it would make a great wordart, but I would like to be able to give credit where credit is due. The quote is as follows:

"Rosa sat so Martin could walk.
Martin walked so Obama could run.
Obama ran so our children can fly"

Thanks in advance.

Time for SNL!

That's right, "Saturday Night LIve"!

Here is your first word art. Where it says {insert place here} is actually left blank so you can put your own place in--be as specific or as vague as you want!

Also, if you want a little giggle, I have updated my playlist to be all "SNL". Feel free to listen.

**OOPS! I cut off the top of my wordart! The download link has now been updated
with a new version of the wordart.

Heard this song on the radio the other day, and thought it would make a cute wordart.

October Kit

I figured I ought to get my October kit up Before October ended-LOL. It has two downloads, one for papers and one for elements. Again, the colors for this kit came from a photo I took in my yard. I just used Kuler to help me find the colors to use. On this one I used what was chosen for the "bright" color palette. Everything I used to make in the kit came from freebies available in the internet. :) I think my favorite part of the kit, though, is the little haiku.

Has it really been that long?

Oh dear, it seems as though I've been neglecting my poor little blog for way too long.

Well, the good news is, I have a little mini kit all ready for you! It is called "Fields of Gold" and was inspired by a photo I took of goldenrod in a field. I like to get my inspiration for colors from photos, it makes the papers have more natural colors. There are 5 papers, 2 flowers, two mats, one button/ribbon embellishment and, of course, 3 wordarts. Hope you like this one.

Well, well, well...

It seems as though I have been nominated for an award, from Designs by Mel !
I want to thank her for this award.., I love her blog, too, she has some nice freebies there, as well as previews for some of the kits she has for sale.

I'm supposed to nominate seven other blogs for this award, but I just got this, so I don't have time right now to think of seven other blogs to choose (Can I just choose ALL the scrapbooking blogs?--lol!) so I'll have to give this some thought. I was supposed to nominate blogs for another award I got, and never got around to that, so I'll have to try to do better this time. Hopefully, I'll get them picked out by the weekend.

TTFN!

Paul Newman

In memory of Paul Newman.

By the way, the hurricane will not hit Maine directly, it's going to Canada (a hurricane in Canada??). We are getting rain though, and there have been flood warnings for much of the state today.

Wisdom

Just a nice liitle quote for today. I love this one, so sweet. And it is from Socrates, one of the greatest minds of all time.

FYI--depending on how things go around here, I may or may not be posting anything tomorrow. Can you believe that a hurricane may hit Maine tomorrow???? It may just sideswipe us, but either way, they are predicting a lot of rain tomorrow, maybe some power outages. We almost never get hurricanes in Maine! Could be interesting.

Anyway,

Another post from me today!

And that means another freebie!

Oooh...I made a big mistake. I went and bought Kim B's special commercial use anniversary grab bag at DSO. TONS of stuff for $19! I've been thinking about making a kit using colors from this picture, and this kit was just the incentive I needed. My working title was "September Morn", but then I dropped the "morn", so now it is just "September". I love how the colors of Septemeber are kind of faded and soft, just at the end of summer, but not yet quite fall, either. I used all stuff from Kim's anniversary grab bag for this kit. Hope you enjoy it.

Taking your hand

Another request. I like this... comes from a Faith Hill/Tim McGraw song. (listen to the song on my playlist)

If it ain't broke....

Today's wordart is another request that I had sent to me over the summer. I hope you like it. I got the inspiration from a commercial for a car. On the ad, the letters in the "boxed" word (on mine, it's "broke") are each a different color. I this think this one would be cute if the letters were colored to match the layout you are doing.

It's kind of ironic that I'm posting this wordart today. The reason I only posted one wordart last weekend is because, well, my daughter broke her arm. Her husband had Army reserve training that weekend, so I had to go stay with her and help her out on Sunday. This is her 3rd broken arm. Considering that we are only born with two arms, that's quite a feat! LOL. Any way, this arm, she had broken just above the elbow when she was in kindergarten (she was swinging on a neighbor's fence). Her left arm was broken in fifth grade while playing on a slide at another friend's house. The biggest problem that time was that the arm pretty much "froze" in a bent position, and has been that way ever since. We tried an operation at one of the leading children's hospitals in the nation, and we even tried the Shriners, but nothing worked-- and no, it is not psychological, it is physical.

So... this past weekend, she was taking out the trash, tripped on a wire in the garage, and broke (you guessed it!) her right elbow! Now she is stuck with two bent elbows. She can't do much of anything, really. They did a CT scan last night, and she goes back to the doctor's next week to find out what they are going to do for her. They want to make she she completely recovers the use of this arm, since it is her "good arm".

Maybe I should make a wordart of "Oops, I did it again!" LOL If I didn't laugh, I'd cry! Someday she'll look back on this and laugh, too. I hate to admit it, but it is kind of funny watching her try to do things.

Now that Pooh is done, what do I do?

Before I embark on my next series, I want to get some requests that came in during my Pooh series that I really should post to share with you all. Here is one of the ose requests. Hope you enjoy it.

"Final" Pooh quote in the series

Well, this is it...the end of the "Pooh" series. I've had a lot of fun making them, but it's time to move on and make other word arts. Of course, it's not really the end... I may post some more Pooh and A A Milne quotes in the future still. It's hard to go wrong with Pooh. :)

I mentioned yesterday that I got a tag and an award this summer, but I never got around to doing anything about them. I got tagged by http://grannynky.blogspot.com/ and I got an award from http://freebies-and-rest.blogspot.com/

So, now for seven random things about myself:
1) I have very little feet (hence the name "liitlefootprints")-- they are adult size 5, kids size 3, and I can get great bargains at the New Balance factory outlet sales when I go because of this. :)
2) I was born in the same hospital as Patrick Dempsy (yes, Dr McDreamy). Unfortunately, it wasn't the same day or the same year.
3) I love my cat. She can sit on her hind paws and beg just like a dog.
4) I have met many "famous" people, but if I mentioned all I have a connection to, it would take you forever to read it all, plus, you could probably figure out where I live within a mile of my house. I'd prefer to say I generically come from Maine.
5) My Junior High Sunday School teacher was in a Stephen King movie. (blink, and you'd miss him)
6) My favorite clothes are my old oversized t-shirts and my knit shorts-- in the winter it's my sweats.
7) My favorite food of all is CHOCOLATE!

Boy, have I been a bad blogger!

Wow, it seems like forever since I've been on my blog woith a new post and word art-- I must apologise for this! Can you forgive me?

I just got caught up in actually doing things this summer (once my migraines settled down a bit) and I didn't get back to my blog. I was also having some trouble with my PSE5--for some weird reason, my lettering was all cramming together, and I tried everything to make it right. AARRGGH! I finally broke down and bought PSE6, and so now I can make my word arts again.
(Yay!) Of course, now Adobe has announced they are taking preoreders for PSE7. Although, I have to admit, I am thinking about saving up to get the full Photoshop. Can we say "cha-ching"?
I wanted to check out the free one month trial from Adobe, but of course, I couldn't get that to download right, so ....

Anyway, I made two word arts for you, and put them into the same file. They kinda describe my summer! The quote is a John Lennon classic, from his song "Beautiful Boy"-- did any of you see "Mr Holland's Opus"? The fonts I used are "John Lennon" and "Johnyokonysm" --(how appropiate.)

Tomorrow I plan on posting my final Pooh Quote. I'll be sad to see this series go, but it's time to explore other quotes-- there are so many millions more quotes to go! LOL-- I also have a couple of quote requests that came in during my Pooh series that I really must get those posted too.

Well, hopefully I'll be back here tomorrow! (oh yeah-- I got tagged and got an award this summer--I'll get to those on my next post, since this post is already too long!)

Retrun to Pooh Corner Word Art

I love the last verse of "Return to Pooh Corner", so I made it into a word art. I did change one word though, "boy" to "hey", so it could fit either a mother or a father. Enjoy!

Kit-Summer Solitude

<

(to see more of this kit, keep reading!)

Hey there! I'm back in the land of the living! I've spent most of this summer not feeling well--bad weather triggers migraines in me, and -guess what!- that's all we've been having this summer. Every day, the weather report is the same: more rain. I'm beginning to think I've stumbled onto the movie set of Groundhog Day.

In order to make up for so few posts lately, I'm bringing you all a special kit I made as a freebie. :) This kit reminds me of when I was a little girl, and we would spend summer vacation at my grandparents' cottage on a saltwater river. We literally walked across the street to the beach. Years later, my uncle had a home on a ocean cove, and we would go for rides in his boat and breathe in all that wonderful salt air. The colors I used for this kit were taken directly from a photo I took this year down near my grandparents' old cottage.

I included some word art for this kit--the title is a word art, too. The word arts are in the kit.

And I made a quick page, included in the kit:

Here are previews of the papers and elements separately:

A couple of the papers don't really show up too well in the preview--here they are:

PLEASE NOTE: In no way shape or form do I claim credit for the use of other designers' commercial use items (some purchased, some free) when I make my kits. They are all wonderful and talented, and without their talents and generosity, I would not be able to create many of the items in my kits. For the sake of these designers, please be respectful and do not share or pirate these items. Thank you.

Drop shadows are for preview purposes only.

Finally! Back on the blog with a new wordart

Yeah, I took the week off last week from blogging...it was a busy one for me. Here is another Pooh quote for you to make up for it. LOL

I haven't got too many left of these Poohisms to go, I'll probably make some Pooh stickers and make up a word art with the last verse of "Return to Pooh Corner" before I'm done. I also know which quote from A A Milne will be the last in this series, a sentimental one. Of course, I probably won't be completely done; I may also still post some lines from A A Milne's poetry from time to time. :)

I also have an idea for my next word art series: Saturday Night Live! There's some great lines from that show-- I'll try to get some of the best to use.

Seasons Stamps

Some stamps for seasons, made to coordinate with my date stamps (See June 22 blog entry)

Hope you like them and can use them! :)

Now we Are Six

Ok, so this really isn't a "Pooh" quote....but I have always been a fan of A A Milne's poetry as well. I read it while growing up, and I remember hearing some of the poems being read on Captain Kangaroo. (Am I dating myself here?--LOL) Of course, his poetry is just as sweet as his beloved Pooh books.

Happy 4th of July!

Just a quick liitle patriotic wordart for you. I saw this on a sign, and liked it, so I made it in to a wordart for you all. Have a nice holiday!

Poetry and Hums

Today I have another Pooh quote for all of you. A cute liitle quote, really. Makes me smile--hope you smile, too. :)

Also, it looks like I'm going have to get to work on some more date stamps for you--a lot of you have downloaded it and left me with some very nice comments! I'll probably do some seasons, as well as days, weeks, months and years, and some other words. And of course, more of the regular date stamps in diiferent fonts so you can mix and match even more!
