I DO NOT LIKE MEDIAFIRE

Mediafire is for the birds....

I JUST GOT NOTIFIED TODAY (OCTOBER 7, 2014) OF ANOTHER WORDART BEING SUSPENDED BY MEDIAFIRE.  IT IS A QUOTE THAT WAS POSTED ALMOST TWO YEARS AGO   (NOVEMBER 2012)  I GOT THE QUOTE FROM THE SITE BRAINY QUOTE.  I GAVE CREDIT FOR THE QUOTE TO THE AUTHOR OF THE QUOTE (AL GREEN), AND I USED A FREE FONT.  I HAVE RECEIVED NO MONETARY COMPLENSATION AS I POSTED THE QUOTE AS A "FREEBIE".  IT'S A GOOD THING I DECIDED MORE THAN A YEAR AND A HALF AGO TO STOP USING MEDIAFIRE.

Well, I have not even gone to my Mediafire files in more than a year and a half.  I wonder how much "research" Mediafire does before suspending a file. Obviously they don't reach out to the "offending" party (in this case myself) to let them know what is going on.  they just "poof" take it away and send mean nastygrams to the customer.  Very poor customer service.  I'm glad I have decided to not use them any more.  I will be finding a new site to host freebies on for sharing.  I will probably be starting from scratch, with a new blog and new name.

To my loyal fellow scrapbookers, I still appreciate all of you, and once I get things figured out, I will back sometime, probably with a more eclectic blog or website. (probably soon, I have been itching to come back!)

?????

Apparently, some wordarts I posted back in September have been in violation of mediafire's distribution policy.  I just got the notificaion on this today.  (January 29th)  Huh?  Why did it take so long for them to notice?  Why has nothing else in my account been flagged?  I've been using song lyrics and song titles and various fonts for serveral years now.  What did I use in this particular set that was in violation as compared to other things I have posted and placed on mediafire that makes this particular set different.?  If I was in voiolation, why didn't anybody else contact me first and tell me what I was doing wrong?  I would have gladly taken down the set if I had know I was in any kind of violation.  I don't even know what it is about this set that makes it in violation.  And mediafire has put a "strike" on my account and may terminate my account.  And my stuff s all free-- I'm not making any money off my stuff, and I do say that my items are for personal use only.  ***sigh***

NEW ADDON TO THIS POST:

A New Home

Sorry I haven't been on here lately...I have just moved into a new apartment!   My cat and I both love the new place.   It's a nice one-bedroom in an older building.  I'm upstairs and I have my own entrance and stairway.  Hardwood floors, a small balcony porch, comfortable sized rooms. (Except the bathroom... good thing I'm not too prissy!)  In-town, a mile from work, close to family members.  If I ever get it in shape and decent looking, I'll post some pictures.  Right now it still looks like a bombshell went off.  LOL.  I suppose that happens when most of your stuff has been in the last house 20-35 years.  I was in my parents house before here.  They were ill the last few years, and my daughter and I stayed with them.  When I moved, we just threw things in boxes and I'm trying to sort it all out.

So...in honor of my new place, I've made some "home" themed wordarts for you.  Hope you enjoy them!

Holiday editon of Wicked Wednesday--patterned papers

Today I have some holiday patterned papers that coordinate with last week's solid papers.  The colors are just a teeny bit different ta the traditional colors, mostly the reds.  The greens are pretty straightforward, however.  I hope you all are having a wonderful holiday season so far!

It's the holiday season!

Happy Wednesday to one and all!  It's that time of year...again.  I've got some solid red and green papers for your Wicked Wednesday gift  today.  Enough holiday in them to work on Christmas pages, yet plain and solid for general purposes, too.  Hopefully you can use them for some of your projects.  Enjoy, and thanks for checking them out!

Goodbye JR

Today I have a "double" tribute to Larry Hagman, the actor who gave life to the unforgettable JR Ewing.  Even if you didn't watch the show, it seems as though everyone knows JR.  Mr. Hagman brought this character to life as someone everyone loved to hate.  I think he'd like that I'm using this quote of his today.  And... the font I used is "Jeannie", modeled after the title letters used on the show "I Dream of Jeannie", another Larry Hagman classic.  RIP, Larry.
