Finally!

I am finally offering my latest freebie for your fall and Thanksgiving papers. For lack of a better name (and with no imagination) I call it "Fall and Thanksgiving Mini Kit". To celebrate, I am continuing my Thanksgiving tradition of putting "Alice's Restaurant " on my playlist for my blog, and I have added Adam Sandler's Thanksgiving song, too. (Note: the Adam Sandler song does have a line or two in it that my not be suitable for all to hear)

I wanted to put a few more elements in the kit, but I had an accident this week. I got up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom, and in my half-asleep state, instead of turning left to go into the bathroom, I turned right. Where the stairs are. I fell down the entire flight of stairs, upstairs to downstairs. Amazingly, I didn't break anything. I have a bruise on the back of my thigh that covers the entire back of the leg, my neck and shoulders are sprained, and I hit my hand so much that I dislocated a finger (and the other fingers are very sore), but nothing is broken. So...using the computer mouse is quite awkward to say the least. I'm playing "seek and ye shall find" with my right index finger to type. (The left fingers are sort of ok to type with.)

To put it mildly, I'm not having a very good year.

Happy Turkey Day!

Here's a little color-it-yourself turkey for holiday pages. Hope you all have had a good Thanksgiving!

I should have my still untitled "Fall/Thanksgiving" kit up on the site this weekend...

The Grace of God

This word art came to me as a request, but it is surely a well-timed request. My relative who first went into the hospital still remains hospitalized. From what they have be able to assume from the various tests they have done, the doctors now feel that he has a pancreatic tumor, rather than an infection as they first thought. This is difficult for us as a family, especially where we just lost one of our family members to cancer. Currently, due to having many heath issues along with this tumor, he is not very strong in regards to surgery or even a CT scan. And, unfortunately, this family member is elderly, so his memory has taken a big hit with being so sick, and I'm not sure how much he really understands. I have to constantly remind my self to let God work His guidence during this time.

Not sure how much time I will have to get online over the next few months, but I do want to try to keep making freebies...it is kinda like having my own therapy in a way...anyway, here is a freebie for this weekend. Hopefully I will have my mini-"fall/Thanksgiving" kit done here soon!

A Sad Post...

This has been a very difficult time for me...the first relative who went into the hospital is still there, his numbers are still "iffy". Unfortunately he has no idea how sick he has really been: he has had some dementia for quite a while, and this illness has made it much worse. We have had to limit his phone calling, because he kept calling people and telling them to come get them to bring him home. (notice I said "telling", not "asking") I'm not sure what finally convinced him, but he seems to be a little more understanding of why he still needs to be in the hospital. It's been a while now, and he still does not seem ready to come home. The hardest thing will be what happens after he leaves the hospital. I doubt he will be able to be alone, and I don't know who would be available to care for him. I suppose we'll cross that bridge when we get to it.

Even harder now, though, is that the second family member who went into the hospital ending up passing away from cancer. She was only 50, and these days that is so young to die. The visiting hours and funeral were good, and well-attended. Most of the people who went to the funeral also went to the graveside services afterwards in the rain. You know the saying"only the good die young"? Well, she was definitely one of the good ones. We will all miss her.

This wordart is in memory of her. I may make a few more "memorial" type word arts, appropriate for memory books, cards, etc. Take care.

Freebie Alpha

Another short post today... now I have two relatives who are seriously ill in the hospital! And they are not in the same hospital. So, I spent yesterday going to the hospitals. Last night when I saw my brother at one of the hospitals, I teased him aboput seeing him at 2 hospitals in one day. (Yeah, we both went to both hospitals, and we both were at each hospital at the same time.)

Anyway, I had this apha I wanted to get out for DSD yesterday, but I ended up unable to squeeze it in. So, while I have a few moments for myself, I am posting them today. Better late than never! Sometime soon, I really have to finish the kit I'ver been working on so I can get that posted on here. In the meantime, here is your alpha! (By the way, the font I used for this only comes in upper case)

Just a quick post tonight

Just a short post and wordart tonight. It's been a long week...a member of my family is in the critical care unit at the hospital, and so I've been back and forth all week long. It's been very tiring. This quote is one I've thought about many times this week, and I've decided to share it.
