Christams special--part 3!

Here is part 3 of my Christmas wordart packs. I hope you have had a good holiday weekend. Next weekend we will start a new year! Let's hope we all have a great one. :)

Post is short today... I have to go visit my relative who is in the hospital --again!

Day 2 of weekend special

Here it is..the 2nd set of Christmas wordarts. I hope all of you are having a good holiday weekend. Mine has been quiet and restful so far-- I am enjoying it very much. Yesterday I visited with my brother and one of my nephews. Right now, besides being able to spend some time on the computer, I am able to get some laundry done at my own pace, and my dad is asleep in the chair while he is watching our local PBS channel with his eyes closed! LOL I guess we are going to get some mixed weather this weekend but not much. So far we have been lucky enough to miss out on all the big storms this year!

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas to all! I have a special Christmas gift for you--3 days of Christmas/Winter wordart packs. I know...everybody has been making Christams wordarts, and by now most of you are all "Christmassed" out! When I started making these wordarts, I was only going to make a couple, and well, I went a little overboard. So, you are all going to reap the benefits if you can still use any Christmas items for your pages. Hope you can find some use for these. :)

Oops, sorry!

I'm so sorry! I didn't get online last night to post my borders, overlays and paper edgers! To make up for it, I am posting both last night's and tonight's freebies here on the blog for you. Forgive me?

Home for the Holidays kit

Christmas week special! Today I have the papers for a "Home for the Holidays" kit. Tomorrow I will post the elements; on Tuesday I will post borders, overlays, and paper edgers; Wednesday will bring the Alpha; and there will be a ton of holiday and winter wordarts for the weekend! I used a color swatch from the Adobe Kuler website for this kit--the name of the swatch is "Vintage Christmas Scene". Hope you enjoy, and have a wonderful Christmas!

Page template

Today I have a page template (PS/PSE format). It's not much, but I have got some more Christmas week specials coming up. I didn't get online last week due to medical issues with my sick relative. He had appointments every day this week, so right now I am quite tired from driving him back and forth.

Tonight I hope to get a break of sorts--I'm going to a Christams party! My boss throws one every year for his employees at a very "la-de-dah" place. LOL! Even if I don't stay all night I'll probably stay to have the dinner. (Prime rib!) I didn't make the party last year, but I at least want to make an appearance. I don't know what I'll wear though--I (oops) have gained weight and nothing fits...I don't think my old sweats will go over too well.

So, anyway... DOWNLOAD THE TEMPLATE HERE (link has been fixed!)

(note: I did mess up a bit on this template--some of the layers may not be arraranged quiie right, and the folded corner is not really right, but if you just use this as sort of a guideline, then you should be ok)

Christams Tree Template

Just a liitle Christmas Tree template for you today (PS/PSE format). Not much, but hope you can use it and enjoy it.

An Alphabet for You

Here is a layered alphabet in greyscale (PS/PSE format) for you to color as you like. Hope you enjoy it.

I am slowly recuperating from my fall last week. The huge bruise on the back of my leg is still quite shocking to look at! I took the splint off my finger because it kept getting in my way. But now, of course, I keep hitting it. Ugh. And ooohhh, how I can feel every joint in my body. This is going to be a long winter, I can tell.

Finally!

I am finally offering my latest freebie for your fall and Thanksgiving papers. For lack of a better name (and with no imagination) I call it "Fall and Thanksgiving Mini Kit". To celebrate, I am continuing my Thanksgiving tradition of putting "Alice's Restaurant " on my playlist for my blog, and I have added Adam Sandler's Thanksgiving song, too. (Note: the Adam Sandler song does have a line or two in it that my not be suitable for all to hear)

I wanted to put a few more elements in the kit, but I had an accident this week. I got up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom, and in my half-asleep state, instead of turning left to go into the bathroom, I turned right. Where the stairs are. I fell down the entire flight of stairs, upstairs to downstairs. Amazingly, I didn't break anything. I have a bruise on the back of my thigh that covers the entire back of the leg, my neck and shoulders are sprained, and I hit my hand so much that I dislocated a finger (and the other fingers are very sore), but nothing is broken. So...using the computer mouse is quite awkward to say the least. I'm playing "seek and ye shall find" with my right index finger to type. (The left fingers are sort of ok to type with.)

To put it mildly, I'm not having a very good year.

Happy Turkey Day!

Here's a little color-it-yourself turkey for holiday pages. Hope you all have had a good Thanksgiving!

I should have my still untitled "Fall/Thanksgiving" kit up on the site this weekend...

The Grace of God

This word art came to me as a request, but it is surely a well-timed request. My relative who first went into the hospital still remains hospitalized. From what they have be able to assume from the various tests they have done, the doctors now feel that he has a pancreatic tumor, rather than an infection as they first thought. This is difficult for us as a family, especially where we just lost one of our family members to cancer. Currently, due to having many heath issues along with this tumor, he is not very strong in regards to surgery or even a CT scan. And, unfortunately, this family member is elderly, so his memory has taken a big hit with being so sick, and I'm not sure how much he really understands. I have to constantly remind my self to let God work His guidence during this time.

Not sure how much time I will have to get online over the next few months, but I do want to try to keep making freebies...it is kinda like having my own therapy in a way...anyway, here is a freebie for this weekend. Hopefully I will have my mini-"fall/Thanksgiving" kit done here soon!

A Sad Post...

This has been a very difficult time for me...the first relative who went into the hospital is still there, his numbers are still "iffy". Unfortunately he has no idea how sick he has really been: he has had some dementia for quite a while, and this illness has made it much worse. We have had to limit his phone calling, because he kept calling people and telling them to come get them to bring him home. (notice I said "telling", not "asking") I'm not sure what finally convinced him, but he seems to be a little more understanding of why he still needs to be in the hospital. It's been a while now, and he still does not seem ready to come home. The hardest thing will be what happens after he leaves the hospital. I doubt he will be able to be alone, and I don't know who would be available to care for him. I suppose we'll cross that bridge when we get to it.

Even harder now, though, is that the second family member who went into the hospital ending up passing away from cancer. She was only 50, and these days that is so young to die. The visiting hours and funeral were good, and well-attended. Most of the people who went to the funeral also went to the graveside services afterwards in the rain. You know the saying"only the good die young"? Well, she was definitely one of the good ones. We will all miss her.

This wordart is in memory of her. I may make a few more "memorial" type word arts, appropriate for memory books, cards, etc. Take care.

Freebie Alpha

Another short post today... now I have two relatives who are seriously ill in the hospital! And they are not in the same hospital. So, I spent yesterday going to the hospitals. Last night when I saw my brother at one of the hospitals, I teased him aboput seeing him at 2 hospitals in one day. (Yeah, we both went to both hospitals, and we both were at each hospital at the same time.)

Anyway, I had this apha I wanted to get out for DSD yesterday, but I ended up unable to squeeze it in. So, while I have a few moments for myself, I am posting them today. Better late than never! Sometime soon, I really have to finish the kit I'ver been working on so I can get that posted on here. In the meantime, here is your alpha! (By the way, the font I used for this only comes in upper case)

Just a quick post tonight

Just a short post and wordart tonight. It's been a long week...a member of my family is in the critical care unit at the hospital, and so I've been back and forth all week long. It's been very tiring. This quote is one I've thought about many times this week, and I've decided to share it.

Just a quickie post today-- this is another wordart request that I am finally getting around to posting here on my blog. Hope you can find a use for it! :)

Call me a slacker!

Ok... so I'm finally getting around to making somewordarts from requests that have been sent to me. I still have a few more journaling prompts, but I'm going to hold off on posting those a while, maybe post one here, another one there.

Anyway, this one came in to me a while ago. (like all my requests! LOL) And I'm just now posting it! That's why I call myself a slacker. *sigh*

I really liked this quote, it really catches the essence of Bob Marley, I think. Being from Maine, I do have to mention something here, though. The Bob Marley who said this is the late, great reggae singer, NOT the very much alive and very funny Bob Marley who is a well-known comedian here in Maine! Maybe someday I will post a quote from him, too!

What would I do...?

Ok, confess. Almost everyone has imagined they would do if they became rich! The group Barenaked Ladies even wrote a song about it. :) I thought that this would be a fun journaling prompt. Go ahead, indulge yourself for a few minutes-- what would you do if you if you found yourself the recipeint of a million dollars or so?

Cheerful Cheerleader!

I included a sample also, but please, feel free to make the cheerleader your own with your school colrs, or maybe even tweeking the out fit a bit to match your own cheerleader!

Back from Vacation!

Hey, all! I've been on a much needed vacation the last couple of weeks. (This explains my absence) Now that I'm back, I need to make up for being MIA. Except now, I'm coming down with a cold, and I feel crappy. LOL

Anyway, I really wanted to get this pack of two wordarts out to you. I made them in memory of Patrick Swayze, who recently lost his battle with cancer. The lines come from his movie "Ghost", which I was just watching again! I love that movie. Hope you enjoy these, and take care.

My Favorite Things

Just for you. Enjoy this one!

Another journaling prompt

Another journaling prompt for you. This one could be a fun one. Ever heard of the "Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon"? It's a game where you try to connect one famous person with Kevin Bacon within six "degrees"- six people, places or projects. Supposedly, everyone in Hollywood can be connected to Kevin Bacon with six connections or less. I'm sure most of you could find fun ways to connect yourself to somebody famous within six "steps" or less. For instance, I could do a page about "Dr McDreamy", Patrick Dempsey himself--several times over! One way I might do this? Easy way would be two steps: I was born in the same hospital as he was! (Unfortunately not the same year or day! Darn!) Or, to go more roundabout, I could say my daughter was a cheerleader. She would compete in the same class as the high school that Patrick attended. (He didn't graduate from there is what I heard.) (Anyway, she wasn't the same years, either.) Or, I could say my sister-in-law is getting cancer treatments at the Patrick Dempsey Cancer Center, where she has met Patrick's sister. See how easy it is?

First Journaling Prompt Wordart!

Here is your first journaling prompt! I hope you can find some fun ways to use this wordart. Find someone, and write or photojournal just what it is that makes you like that person (or pet, as the case may be--LOL)

August kit

Well, here we are at the end of August! That means it is time for me to put my August kit here on the blog. Since I already did kits for September -December last year, my monthly kits will not have monthly names anymore until January, then from January-April I will have more monthly named kits. I still will be making kits based on colors in photos I've taken, as well as a few other kits with other types of colors. (And of course I'll still have wordarts too!)

Enjoy this kit!

The dream shall never die...

I know I promised you some journaling prompts as my next word art series, but with the passing of Ted Kennedy, I felt it would be appropriate for me to post this wordart in his memory. Love him or hate him, he certainly made his presence felt in congress, being one of the longest serving senators. Rest in peace, Senator.

Tell me a story

This past week, Don Hewett, the creator of the TV show "Sixty Minutes" passed away. When asked about creating that show, he said the idea behind it was simple. It was "Tell me a story".

A very inspiring line for a scrapbook page! So... I figured it would be a good quote to use as a wordart. It would fit in with my "Basics" series of wordarts, and it would also be a quote as a tribute on the passing of Mr. Hewett, AND it could help to launch a new series of wordarts I hope to share with you. My next few wordarts will be based on journaling prompts. Kind of a kin to my "Basics", and also, some fun to think about, and to help you add some journalling to your pages. I know that that is where I have have a tendency to drift off in my own pages sometimes, getting too caught up with how my page looks, and not having enough "who, what, when, where, how and why". Hope you enjoy.

Tell ME a story! :)

In honor of the 40th anniversary of man's first landing on the moon, I have put together a packge of wordarts that are about the moon. Enjoy!
