Hal David songs
This week I have wordarts from the lyricist Hal David. He was a gifted writer who wrote hits for many performers in the pop era. With Burt Bachrach, his songbook was quitte extensive, recorded by such artists as Perry Como, the Carpenters and Herb Alphert. Of course, the most famous collaboration was with Dionne Warwick. who made his lyrics come to life. I have made wordarts of just a few of his best known songs...there are so many more that could also be made into wordarts. Now that I've posted this, I can get back to humming "I Say a Little Prayer", which I haven't been able to get out of my head!

Another Wednesday, another freebie
It's an amazing world we live in, isn't it? Here we are, in the 21st century, doing so much that were only dreams just 50 short years ago. My wordart for this week honors the passing of the first person to step upon the surface of the moon, one of the most significant moments of the past 50 years. And this quote is one of the most famous quotes of the 20th century.

oh wow...Wednesday
Three goodbyes this week... two were in their 90's --that's the oh wow part! one sadly was only in his 60's.
First is Helen Gurley Brown, a feminist icon of the last 50 years. She was in her 90's, and had a long and interesting life. I'm sharig one of my favorite quotes of hers today:

Next is baseball legend Johnny Pesky, another legend who passed away in his 90's. A contemporary of Ted Williams, Johnny Pesky was a favorite fixture for the Boston Red Sox. I have chosen to highlight John Fogerty's song, which I'm sure were Mr Pesky's first words to St Peter at the Pearly Gates!
Finally, one of the beloved "Sweathogs" had passed away... Ron Palillo, known to many as Arnold Horschack. Unfortunately, he was only in his 60's when had passed away from a heart attack. I couldn't make a wordart of his signature "OOH! OOH! OOH!" look right, so I hope this wordart will do...
